Why We Reimagined Virtual Physical Therapy

Everyone on our team had lived it — the frustration of pain that lingered, the good intentions to recover, and the drop-off that always came too soon. We came together not just as professionals, but as people who knew what it felt like to want your life back and not have the right tools to get there. Virdio Health was born from that shared experience, with a simple belief: recovery should feel possible and personal, every step of the way.

Our Mission
To transform recovery by making physical therapy engaging, accessible, and outcomes-driven, powered by smart technology and a human touch that motivates, empowers, and delivers results.
Our Vision
A world where recovery is no longer delayed, avoided, or abandoned. We believe every person deserves a faster, smarter, more encouraging, and more affordable path to feeling better.
Our Story
Let’s be honest, most people don’t look forward to doing physical therapy. It’s time-consuming. It’s often inconvenient. And for many, it simply doesn’t feel rewarding. That’s not a failure of willpower; it’s a failure of the system.

Virdio Health set out to change that.

Our story began with a familiar frustration. Co-founder Arjun Rishi had personally experienced lower back and knee pain and saw just how difficult it was to stay consistent with recovery. At the time, his team had been developing technology for the fitness world: computer vision and augmented reality tools that guided human movement and delivered real-time feedback.

It was in conversation with Dr. Mehul Desai, a nationally recognized pain specialist and longtime advocate for virtual rehab, that the idea clicked: what if we applied this same technology, paired with behavioral science, to make physical therapy more effective, accessible, and engaging?

Alongside co-founder Ty Bordner and a team of experts in musculoskeletal care, behavioral motivation, and motion tracking, Virdio Health was created to solve the problem from the ground up.

Just a smarter, more human-centered way to help people recover, one that fits into real life, and helps them feel seen, supported, and successful.
Our Approach to Care Research shows that motivation is built through feedback, At Virdio Health, we believe recovery should feel empowering, not exhausting.

Too often, physical therapy programs are rigid, inconvenient, or discouraging. We built our approach to meet people where they are, adapt as they progress, and keep them motivated along the way.

Our model is grounded in behavioral science and shaped by real patient experiences. It’s designed to reinforce effort, build momentum, and make progress feel personal.

What that means in practice:
• Encouragement, not criticism
• Structure, not overwhelm
• Progress that feels rewarding — not clinical

We combine smart technology with compassionate support:
1. Augmented reality targets that adapt to each person’s range of motion
2. Positive reinforcement through visual and audio feedback in every session
3. Gift card incentives to celebrate consistency and achievement
4. A real-time Care Team that offers support when and where it's needed

We don’t just help people move better. We help them feel seen, supported, and successful.
See How it Works
